AS Monaco reject bid for Benjamin Mendy

Manchester City's raid on Monaco stars has hit a roadblock as the Telegraph reports that the Gallic outfit have rejected City's £40 million bid for left-back Benjamin Mendy. Pep Guardiola wants to sign Mendy before the preseason begins and make him his second summer signing after already securing his teammate, Bernardo Silva. Monaco are holding firm but might have to sell him if a bigger bid comes in from Manchester.

Alexandre Lacazette on Liverpool's radar

Huge summer spending is expected at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp prepares his side to challenge on all fronts next season. After Atletico Madrid's transfer ban was upheld, the Reds received good news in their pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman has been on Liverpool's radar for a while and Daily Star has now claimed that talks between the two parties are scheduled for next week with Liverpool ready to spend £50 million for the in-form striker.
