Lionel Messi rejected a £850,000 per week offer from Manchester City
FC Barcelona stalwart Lionel Messi recently signed an extension with the club, putting to bed all rumours of his exit from the Catalan club. But Marca has claimed that Messi had a humongous offer on the table from Manchester City which he chose to reject in order to prolong his career in La Liga.
The report stated that Messi rejected an offer of £850,000 per week wage deal from Manchester City and instead, signed a £500,000 per week contract with Barcelona. Pep Guardiola's side had also offered the Argentine a €100 million signing on bonus which also could not tempt Messi to leave Camp Nou for the Etihad.
