The Italian legend has just released a statement on Twitter confirming his retirement from football. Pirlo is currently playing for New York City in the MLS and is now all set to play his last game in a professional league.
Claude Makelele leaves Swansea City
Assistant coach at Swansea City, Claude Makelele has today resigned from his post. Makelele joined Swansea to assist Paul Clement in January but has now left his role as his number two to take up the managerial job at Belgian club, K.A.S Eupen.
The Belgian side is currently bottom of their league and have won just two of their 14 league matches. This is the Frenchman's second stint as a manager - he coached Ligue 1 club, Bastia for five and a half months in 2014.
