Antonio Conte at loggerheads with Chelsea hierarchy
The Daily Mirror reports that inaction in the transfer market has caused the friction to increase between the manager and the boardroom at Chelsea. Antonio Conte has been left frustrated after missing out on top targets, with the latest being Romelu Lukaku. The striker is supposedly on his way to Manchester United. Chelsea missed out on Virgil Van Dijk and are also seeing their moves for Tiemoue Bakayako and Alex Sandro being delayed.
Swansea City reject bid for Alfie Mawson
The Swans have rejected a £20 million bid for highly-rated centre-back Alfie Mawson from Tottenham Hotspur. According to the Telegraph, Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of the youngster and has told the club hierarchy to make a second bid for Mawson. Swansea want at least £30 million for the defender with Spurs ready to use academy graduate, Josh Onomah in an attempt to sweeten the deal.
