Max Meyer subject of a bid from Tottenham Hotspur
Caught Offside has revealed that Spurs are all set to renew their interest in 21-year-old attacker Max Meyer. The Lilywhites had enquired about Meyer last summer and were even ready to pay £30 million for him but Schalke rejected their advances. Meyer, who has just a year left on his current deal, is not ready to sign a new contract. Mauricio Pochettino is expected to launch a formal bid for the German sensation by the end of this week.
Paul Verhaugh joins Wolfsburg
The 33-year-old Augsburg captain Paul Verhaugh has left the club to join Wolfsburg on a two-year contract. The right back will wear the no.3 shirt for Wolfsburg. Verhaugh joined Augsburg from Vitesse Arnhem in 2010 and scored 19 goals in 173 appearances.
The Dutchman said after being unveiled as a Wolfsburg player, "After seven fantastic years, it feels a bit strange that I won't be wearing the FCA shirt anymore. But I consciously made this decision because I want to do something new as I reach the end of my career."
