Atletico Madrid have excluded Diego Forlan this morning from the squad that will be travelling to Portugal for their 2º leg Europa League preliminary game against Vitoria Guimaraes at the striker’s personal request. The Uruguayan International is negotiating with Inter Milan his transfer to the San Siro, thus suggesting that the deal could be done soon. The deal was put on hold when the Samuel Eto’o negotiations with Anzhi Makhachkala were getting prolonged. Now that the big money transfer of the Cameroonian is done, the money from that sale looks set to be invested in Forlan by Inter.

Staying with Atletico Madrid transfers, the father of Brazilian and Wolfsburg midfielder Diego Riba was caught by journalists outside the “Vicent Calderon Staduim” offices last night.
