Real Madrid player- Luka Modric said that he has no intention of moving away from his club this summer.
The player in an interview with the Sun said: “I’m not even thinking about the possibility I could leave Madrid this summer, but there is interest from other clubs.”
The statement was made amidst reports that Jose Mourinho of Chelsea was interested in tagging the midfielder along from Madrid to Chelsea as he jumped from the Spanish capital to Stamford Bridge.
The time that Modric spent with Santiago Bernabeu in August 2012, gave him the knowledge required to thrive in the Premier League.
Chelsea has lined up a mighty fine deal to make sure that the Croatian international is lured back to London.
But Modric, who in spite of being a big fan of Mourinho, has clarified, once and for all, that he plans to play out his days in Madrid.
“Of course I was sad when Jose Mourinho left. He was the one who insisted in bringing me to Madrid. He is a fantastic coach and I am honoured to have worked with him.”
“I wish him all the best in Chelsea. I believe he will use all his knowledge and expertise at Stamford Bridge once again.”
