Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up which sees Manchester United get linked with their fifth summer signing while Arsenal are certain to make a defensive signing in next 24 hours.
Elsewhere, Manchester City have all but agreed a deal to sign Barcelona star this summer. However, the biggest news of the day comes from Emirates which sees Mesut Ozil get linked with Bundesliga giants.
On that note, here are the most popular transfer news and rumours doing the rounds on August 14th.
Serie A
- Wolfsburg chief Klaus Allofs admits Simone Zaza visited yesterday, but talk of a €25m transfer from Juventus is “all to be clarified.” The striker was given a tour to Wolfsburg’s training facility last night and a deal is expected to be concluded later today, however, Allofs is not willing to jump the gun just yet.
- According to reports from Football Italia, Fiorentina have beaten a whole host of Premier League teams to agree terms with Hajduk Split for left-back Hrvoje Milic and striker Josip Maganjic. The report confirms that the duo will sign their contract with Serie A side in coming 48 hours.
- Mario Balotelli reportedly offered himself to Serie A minnows Sassuolo, but they would prefer Alessandro Matri. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Super Mario is determined to move back to Italy but no team is willing to take a gamble on him given his recent horrendous seasons.
Bundesliga
- Real Madrid have offered €65 million for Bayern Munich's David Alaba but the German club have rejected the offer and asked for at least €80 million to let the Austrian defender go, according to AS. Zinedine Zidane is keen to make Alaba his priority signing this summer.
- Julian Draxler will turn down the chance to join Arsenal and sign for Paris Saint-Germain, according to Neil Moxley of the Mirror. Draxler is eager to quit Bundesliga this summer but his reported 110m release clause is a huge hurdle. However, PSG are ready to pay the asking fee for Draxler and seal his transfer in coming weeks.
- Schalke 04 are interested in buying 23-year-old striker Diego Rolan from Bordeaux this summer, according to Alfredo Pedulla. The Uruguayan star has been linked to AC Milan and Bologna in the Serie A, as well as Premier League side Everton.
Premier League
- Mesut Ozil’s Arsenal future continues to be in doubt after Bild have reported a potential €70m bid from Bayern Munich for the World Cup winner. Ozil is frustrated at the lack of transfer activities at Emirates and is itching to move away from Premier League. Real Madrid are also interested in his signature.
- Manchester United have opened talks to sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid this summer. Varane has previously worked with Mourinho and is intrigued by the idea of teaming up with Mourinho once again. Daily Express understands a €38million bid is being prepared by Mourinho and Co.
- Arsenal are expected to sign Shkodran Mustafi next week after player has agreed person terms with the Gunners, according to Telegraph. The report claims that there is a medical planned for Mustafi and he will be part of Arsenal’s next Premier League match.
La Liga
- According to Mundo Deportivo on Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Barcelona’s Claudio Bravo. Sources close to Bravo’s camp have told them a transfer to Manchester City is almost done. The Chilean international has a release clause of €42m, but Barcelona would be willing to do business for €20m-€25m.
- UFC star Conor McGregor has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed a new deal with Real Madrid. The Portuguese star is currently tied to the capital club until 2018, but reports in Spain have stated that he is set to put pen to paper over a new deal and extend his stay in Spanish Capital.
- David Lopez is on his way to undergo a medical with Espanyol after the Napoli midfielder was spotted at the airport. He had already been left out of the squad for Saturday’s 4-1 friendly victory away to Hertha Berlin. The transfer is expected to be completed in next 24 hours.
Rest of Europe
- Aston Villa are close to completing a deal to sign Crystal Palace midfield star Mile Jedinak, according to the club owner Tony Xia. The social media friendly owner posted a message earlier today, which read: “Nobody can steal if he's delighted to be with us; also you can't keep him if his heart was not with us”.
- Dani Osvaldo could be heading back to Europe this summer, as the former Italy striker is linked with Rennes, according to Football Italia. The 30-year-old centre-forward is currently a free agent after short-lived spells at Southampton, Juventus, Inter, Boca Juniors and Porto.
