Welcome to our daily transfer rumours round-up section. Clubs in Europe are quite active in the transfer market, after a slow start in the transfer window. As always, Manchester United are linked to a couple of big names, and have reportedly open negotiations to bring back a former player.
Liverpool have agreed to a fee with Watford for the transfer of a certain English striker, whilst Paris-Saint Germain are keen on signing a Premier League star.
Here are the transfer rumours doing the rounds on June 30th:
Serie A
Juventus star Simeone Zaza could be leaving this summer, after lack of playing time last season. According to Corriere dello Sport, Everton, West Ham, and Wolfsburg have approached Zaza’s agent over the possibility of a transfer.
AS Roma are keen on extending the loan spell of Wojciech Szczesny. Gazzetta dello Sport on Thursday claim Szczesny’s agent is in Milan to meet AS Roma’s director of football, Walter Sabatini. The Serie A club are hoping Arsenal will pay a part of Szczesny’s wages, if they were to sign him on loan.
Fiorentina striker Baba Khoumar is on the wishlist of Middlesbrough, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. The Senegalese forward struggled to get enough playing time last season, but could still cost as much as €15m to the newly promoted Premier League side.
English Premier League
Manchester United have opened negotiations with Juventus to sign French star Paul Pogba, reports L’Equipe in France. Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Pogba, and also wanted him at Chelsea last season. Apparently, another meeting is scheduled to take place between Manchester United and Juventus next week, when the Premier League side could make an offer for Pogba. Juventus have set an asking price of €100m for the former Manchester United player.
Liverpool, today, confirmed they have reached an agreement with Watford for striker Jerome Sinclair, after a fee of £4m was agreed between both the clubs. Sinclair’s contract was set to expire this summer, and earlier it was expected a transfer tribunal might be needed to decide the transfer fee, but it now appears both the clubs have quickly resolved the matter.
Crystal Palace have agreed a fee of €2m with Marseille for their skipper Steve Mandanda, reports L’Equipe. It is reported Crystal Palace have agreed personal terms with the player yesterday, after which Mandanda completed his medical examinations.
Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko is a transfer target for Liverpool, reports L’Equipe. The Frenchman has no intentions of playing in the Championship next season, and it is reported the Magpies have already rejected a bid of €12m from Hamburg.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic put an end to all speculations regarding his future today in his own style today. The Swedish superstar who bowed out from the international scene recently after his country’s exit from Euro 2016 took to social networking site Instagram to reveal that he is joining Manchester United this coming season.
La Liga
Real Madrid are hoping to sign Robert Lewandowski this summer, and that could see Karim Benzema leaving Santiago Bernabeu. According to El Confidencial, Arsenal are still interested in signing the Frenchman, but should offer big money for the striker.
Barcelona’s president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, today confirmed in a press conference that Brazilian star Neymar will sign a new five-year contract in the next few days. “On these Neymar rumours I want to make something clear. Neymar does not want to leave Barcelona and we do not want him to leave. In the next few days we will be able to officially announce a new contract for five years. His new contract will be for five seasons and we will make sure everything is correct,” Bartomeu told the media.
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Barcelona have agreed a fee of €30m for Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti. The French defender should complete his transfer to the Catalan giants after the completion of the Euros in his homeland.
Rest of Europe
L’Equipe report N’Golo Kante’s representatives are in constant touch with Paris-Saint Germain, and talks could intensify after the end of Euros. Reportedly, a meeting took place between PSG’s sporting director, Olivier Letang, and Kante himself in March. Real Madrid are also lurking around, but are yet to contact his representatives.
It’s no secret Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan is on the wishlist of Manchester United, and German newspaper Bild have got some more information on it. Bild say Mkhitaryan was all set to sign a new deal at Signal Iduna Park in late May, when both the parties agreed on a €7m a year deal for four years. However, things changed after a couple of weeks when the Armenian star sent a message to Thomas Tuchel telling him he wants to sign for Manchester United.
Paris-Saint Germain are close to signing former Newcastle star Hatem Ben Arfa. L’Equipe say a phone call from Unai Emery was enough to convince Ben Arfa to sign for the French champions.
