Chelsea preparing a massive £85 million deadline day splurge

The Daily Mirror has reported that Chelsea are hoping to complete as many as three signings before 3:30 AM IST - the time when the transfer window closes for the summer. Firstly, the Blues are confident of agreeing on a fee for Danny Drinkwater of Leicester City who has already put in a transfer request. An inquiry has also been made for Everton's Ross Barkley with a £25 million bid expected to be put in soon. Thirdly, Chelsea have put in a £23 million bid for Torino full-back Davide Zappacosta after failing to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Liverpool still in the market for Thomas Lemar and Virgil Van Dijk

Despite there being no clear reports of the Reds being close to an agreement for any of the two players mentioned, Sportskeeda can understand that Liverpool are still maintaining their wish to lure Lemar and Van Dijk to Anfield. For Lemar, the Reds will have to shell out close to €100 million Euros with latest reports suggesting that AS Monaco are willing to sell at the right price. The Van Dijk saga is not seeing any closure at the moment with Sky Sports reporting that there have been no bids today for the central defender.
