Juan Mata was sold to the Red Devils by Jose Mourinho in 2014
  • In a shocking news, Juan Mata has been linked with a transfer from Manchester United to Barcelona in a £26million summer move, according to reports in Spain. With Jose Mourinho taking over as the Old Trafford boss had raised questions over Mata's long-term prospects as he had been sold to the Red Devils by the then Chelsea boss in 2014. According to Mundo Deportivo, the 28-year-old was in Barcelona last week and is reportedly keen on a return to his native Spain.
  • According to Spanish sports site to El Desmarque Vigo, Celta Vigo centre-half Sergio Gomez is being chased by QPR and Fulham. It seems that the west London rivals are in talks to sign the defender, and a £4.6 million bid has been lodged by one of them. Though the bidder was not revealed, it is more likely to be Fulham after the club was released from its transfer embargo this week.
  • James Rodriguez has said that he wants to stay with Real Madrid despite losing his position in the starting line-up, putting an end to his transfer rumours. The Colombian had remained on the bench during Real's penalty shoot-out win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday. James had only 21 starts for Real this season as the new boss Zinedine Zidane preferred Casemiro in the defensive midfield role.
