Leon Bailey joins Bayer Leverkusen
Bayer Leverkusen have completed the signing of the 19-year-old Jamaican winger Leon Bailey from Belgian club Genk on a five-year contract. Bailey was heavily linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, however, the Bundesliga outfit moved in to agree a £12.8million deadline day transfer.
Club's managing director Michael Schade expressed his delight at the transfer and said, “With Leon Bailey, we have once again been able to secure a promising player to us for a long time. This boy also stood at the top of the wish-list for many other European clubs. We are all the more fortunate that we have been able to resist such strong competition.”
Chelsea’s bid for Kolasinac turned down
German club Schalke have confirmed that they have turned down a €10million bid for the exciting wing-back Sead Kolasinac. Daily Star can confirm that Antonio Conte wanted the player at Stamford Bridge before the end of January transfer window but Schalke are not ready to let the player leave for reasons best known to them. Kolasinac is out of contract in Gelsenkirchen this summer and has been expected to join compatriot Miralem Pjanic at Juventus at the end of the season.
