#2 Matthijs de Ligt to PSG
It has been a sensational season for Ajax's captain, Matthijs de Ligt. After becoming the youngest captain to lead the club (at 17 years and 285 days old), de Ligt led his team to a dream run in the Champions League this season.
The Dutchman's leadership and defensive qualities have led him to become an important target for many clubs this season. With the transfer of Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona already confirmed, there were good chances that de Ligt might follow the trail. But enormous demands and a high pay commission to his agent, Mino Raiola has seen the Catalan giants back off from the deal.
After a brief tug-of-war with Manchester United for the youngster's signing, it now appears that Paris Saint-Germain have ignited their interest in the Dutchman. The Qatar-backed club is willing to pay £85 million as well as his reported £350,000 per week wages.
It is going to be a long transfer window for the Dutch defender as he has the Nations League semi-finals to look forward to against England.
