Latest reports from Germany suggest that Arsenal are still interested in signing German wonder kid Julian Draxler and are planning to make a bid at end of this season. It’s a known news that Arsenal failed in their pursuit for Draxler this summer as Schalke’s asking price blocked any kind of progress in the talks.
Now, the new rumors reveal that Schalke are willing to lower their asking price to £34m, which is easily affordable by the Gunners. Anyway, Arsenal are not alone in the chase for the creative winger. Juventus are monitoring the situation closely and are also ready to match Schalke’s valuation of the player.
Earlier this month, Draxler revealed that he did turn down an offer from a big club in summer just to keep his World Cup dreams alive. He prefers staying in a well known environment rather than moving to a new one at least till the World Cup selection gets over.
Wenger is thought to have £30m left in his war chest, even after spending over £42m on Mesut Ozil on the deadline day. If Arsenal make a proper bid at end of this season (after the World Cup), then they have a good chance of luring Draxler to the Emirates.
