AS Monaco vice-president rejects any move for Thomas Lemar this month
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has reiterated the fact that Thomas Lemar is not for sale this month, ending Liverpool and Arsenal's hopes of landing the 22-year-old. Liverpool were said to be the favourites to land Lemar as a direct replacement for Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool Echo via RMC have quoted Vasilyev as saying, "He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season 100%. If Liverpool or Arsenal come with a big offer before the end of the market? This is not relevant. We will say no because the objectives are clear."
Anderlecht make a bid for Aleksandar Mitrovic
Newcastle United have received a bid from Anderlecht for the out-of-favour striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, the Chronicle reports. The towering forward is not the first choice at St. James' Park but the Magpies have made it certain that they will not sell Mitrovic for under £15 million.
Rafa Benitez has guaranteed Mitrovic playing time if he stays in Newcastle after failing to land his preferred striking options such as Nicolai Jorgensen and Daniel Sturridge.
