Manchester United told to pay £90 million for Kalidou Koulibaly
Manchester United's desperate hunt for a quality centre-back caused them to pursue several top defenders like Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld earlier in the summer but to no avail. Since then, United have struggled defensively, further highlighting the dire need of a good central defender.
Now, Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly as his top defensive target. However, according to reports from The Sunday Times, the Red Devils have allegedly been told to pay more than £90 million for the 27-year-old.
The report also claims that Senegalese star is viewed as a crucial figure in the team and that his presence is vital to the team's performance for the remainder of the season. But, failure to qualify for the knock-out rounds of the UEFA Champions League could convince Napoli to let the player go for a world-record fee for a defender.
