And as always, there are stories which make headlines irrespective of the transfer window being open or shut. Though the transfer world has been slow today to churn out news, we have managed to get a bunch of stories that made headlines on March 11th, 2018:
Premier League
Manchester United and Chelsea target Edinson Cavani
According to Le Parisian, Edinson Cavani is unhappy with life at Parc Des Princes at the moment and is believed to be thinking of leaving PSG in the summer.
He is valued at around €60 million by the club with Manchester United and Chelsea reported to be the front-runners to sign the Uruguayan. Cavani can definitely be seen in England soon with PSG having their hands tied due to the FFP regulations.
Liverpool set to sign Jack Butland
The Mirror understands that Liverpool are confident of completing a £40 million move for Stoke City's Jack Butland. The goalkeeper has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp who reportedly wants the Englishman to be his new number 1. Butland is in good form this season and may well be England's trusted choice at the FIFA World Cup this year.

Massimiliano Allegri wants to replace Arsene Wenger
If a report from The Sun is to be believed then Juventus' man in charge, Massimiliano Allegri, has his heart set on replacing Arsene Wenger at the Emirates. The Italian is reportedly learning English and has told his close associates of his interest to manage in the Premier League.
Allegri has been linked with Arsenal in the past but may finally get his dream job if Wenger decides to step down.
AC Milan lining up a move for Jack Wilshere
The Rossoneri are reportedly impressed by Jack Wilshere's performance at the San Siro in the past week and are now looking to make a move for him. Reports from The Daily Express claim that Milan are looking to lure Wilshere to Italy with the midfielder set to be out of contract in the summer.
He has been offered a new contract with a 20% pay cut by Arsenal, but the player is allegedly not interested in accepting a reduced offer.
Bundesliga
David Wagner on Borussia Dortmund's radar
In a surprising turn of events, David Wagner has emerged as a top candidate to take over at Borussia Dortmund next season. The Mirror understands that the Bundesliga side are not at all happy with the progress made by Peter Stoger and are looking to relieve him in the summer.
Wagner, who coached the Dortmund reserves for four years, has impressed at Huddersfield Town and is now being linked with a top job back in Germany.
Manchester United monitor Sokratis Papastathopoulos
The Mirror has reported that Manchester United have scouted the Greek centre-back on a number of occasions this season, and are looking to make a move for him soon.
Papastathopoulos is valued at around £20 million by Borussia Dortmund who joined the Westfalenstadion outfit back in 2013. The Greece international is said to be United's second centre-back summer target after Toby Alderweireld.
La Liga
Antoine Griezmann house hunting in Barcelona
Catalunya Radio (via Marca) have claimed that Antoine Griezmann and his wife recently visited a real estate agency in Barcelona. The French forward is increasingly been linked with a summer move to FC Barcelona and if there is any truth to this report, then Griezmann's move to Camp Nou is all but confirmed. Notably, he has a €100 million release clause which is expected to be triggered in the summer.
Real Madrid target Karlo Letica
According to Marca, Real Madrid have been mightily impressed by Karlo Letica, the Croatian U-21 goalkeeper who is currently plying his trade for Hajduk Split. Los Blancos have already reportedly gotten in touch with the player's agent and the club ahead of a potential move in the summer.
Letica is often dubbed as the 'next Jan Oblak' because of the similarities between the strengths of both the custodians.
Rest of the world
PSG to rival Chelsea for Luis Enrique
Chelsea's future plans may take a big hit with The Daily Star claiming that PSG have entered the race for Luis Enrique. The Parisiens will be looking for a new manager in the summer with Unai Emery seemingly destined to lose his place.
Chelsea, too, are in a similar position with Antonio Conte. Further, the other candidates linked with the PSG hot seat are Zinedine Zidane and Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester City enter Lautaro Martinez race
The Citizens are the latest club to be linked with a move for Racing Club's Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine striker nicknamed "the Bull" has been on the radar of Inter Milan and Real Madrid for a while now.
But The Daily Express have now claimed that City scouts have sent positive feedback back to the headquarters and are ready to enter the race for the £18 million-rated striker.
