Real Madrid favourites to land Toby Alderweireld
It is a well-known fact that Toby Alderweireld has a release clause of £25 million next summer. Tottenham Hotspur are desperate to keep a hold of him and have hence offered him a new deal. But the centre-back is keen on receiving an offer which will see him earn in excess of £150,000 per week which has put the player's future in jeopardy.
The Mirror understands that Real Madrid have been alerted by his situation and are likely to lead the chase for the Belgian if he does not sign an extension with Spurs. Madrid's major transfer shake-up in the summer involves a central defender and Alderweireld may well be that man.
Samuel Umtiti wants a pay hike
FC Barcelona and Samuel Umtiti are currently engrossed in negotiations over a new deal for the Frenchman which expires in 2021 and reportedly has a €60 million release clause. It is claimed that Manchester United had made an offer for the centre-back in January and had offered him a contract worth €6 million per year.
According to Sport, Umtiti has now demanded the Catalan chiefs to offer him a pay structure higher than what was on the table from Manchester United.
