Liverpool given a boost in their pursuit of Stefan De Vrij
The Lazio centre-back has been linked with Inter Milan and Liverpool in the recent past. But according to Mediaset via Talksport, Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has refused to admit that his side are interested in De Vrij.
This has now made Liverpool the favourites to land the defender which would see the Reds adopt a Dutch centre-back pairing in the form of De Vrij and Van Dijk.
Arsenal chief wants Massimiliano Allegri
According to the Daily Star, Arsenal's chief executive Ivan Gazidis has been impressed by Allegri's work in Turin and wants the Italian to take over from Arsene Wenger in the summer. It remains to be seen who will succeed the Arsenal veteran as it is also suggested that head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is backing Hoffenheim's Julian Nagelsmann for the top job.
