Everton monitoring Jack Wilshere
John Cross of the Mirror writes that Everton are looking to bring Jack Wilshere to Merseyside and are preparing a big-money move for the midfielder. Wilshere is going to be a free agent in the summer and is currently in a contractual standoff with Arsenal over a new deal.
The Toffees are looking to take advantage of this situation and are ready to offer a better deal to the Englishman. Wilshere currently earns £110,000 per week at the Emirates.
Mark Hughes set to be the next Southampton manager
Southampton are closing in on their managerial appointment as the Telegraph reports that Mark Hughes is the man to replace Mauricio Pellegrino at the helm. Hughes played for Southampton from 1998-2000 and will be entrusted with the job of avoiding relegation.
The Saints have been in talks with Hughes and look to finalize a short-term deal until the end of the season before their weekend FA Cup quarter-final clash against Wigan Athletic.
