Unai Emery confirms he talked to Mustafi about leaving

Unai Emery will be happy with the transfer window that Arsenal have had

After impressing initially, Shkodran Mustafi has struggled and is hardly a 'fan-favourite' at the Emirates these days. With Arsenal's defensive problems becoming the major source of concern for Unai Emery, the fans expected Mustafi to be shown the door during the summer.

"I spoke with him when we finished last season. I spoke with him when we started pre-season and I spoke with him also two weeks ago saying maybe there was the possibility he can leave.

"But I don't have doubts if he needs to play because he is a good player."
