Unai Emery says there will only be loan signings in January

Unai Emery has been quick to quell suggestions that Arsenal will splash some cash in January. Speaking to the press ahead of Arsenal's weekend game against West Ham United, the Arsenal boss said,

“We cannot sign anyone permanently. Only loan players this January.”

Denis Suarez has been one player that the Gunners have been heavily linked with. On questioned about a potential move for the Barcelona midfielder, Emery replied,

“I don’t know now his situation but I know the club is working for the possibility players who can help us with this condition (loan).”

Ever Banega is another player who has been linked with the Gunners. On the possibility of a deal, he said,

I know this player and he is very good. Now I cannot say to you more. The club is working, telling me each moment different situations can happen. At the moment I haven’t any news today.”
