Christian Eriksen has agreed to join Real Madrid
If the latest reports are anything to go by, Christian Eriksen will wear Real Madrid's whites next season. In what would be a minor setback to Barcelona, the Danish midfielder of Tottenham Hotspur has decided that he is heading to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer.
Barcelona were reportedly keeping tabs on Eriksen and were looking at him as a potential replacement for the ageing Ivan Rakitic. However, Real Madrid have been actively pursuing the central midfielder for a while and Zinedine Zidane is a fan.
Eriksen has already informed Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy that he will leave in the summer whether or not Spurs manage to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy. Eriksen's current contract will run out in 2020 and he has rejected all the offers that Spurs have made so far to extend it.
Real Madrid will have to pay a sum in the ballpark of €100 million to secure his services. Eriksen has given his yes to Zidane and Florentino Perez, as per the report.
