In what is a very positive piece of news for Manchester United supporters, star goalkeeper David de Gea has now revealed that he is keen on club captaincy as he inches closer towards signing a new contract.

The Spanish international, who has been all set to put pen to paper on a 6 year deal which will see him earn somewhere between £350,000 and £375,000 a week, said,

“I’ve been captain for some games,”
“Of course, it is amazing to be captain of a club like Manchester United and defend this badge. It’s amazing, so of course I’ll be really, really happy to captain.”
“It’s my ninth season, I feel like one of the most experienced players.
“I need to show that on the pitch and try to help the young guys know what Manchester United means and that’s important.”
