Despite the player and the club being at loggerheads over a new deal, the former wants to stay on and has asked for reassurances to do the same. David de Gea's current contract will run out in the summer of 2020 and recently, the club refused to meet the Spaniard's wage demands which they deemed exorbitant.

Reportedly, De Gea wants wage parity with the club's top earner Alexis Sanchez and the United top brass have informed him that it would be impossible. However, it is being widely suggested that United and De Gea are set to reach a compromise and agree on a deal which will see the Manchester United no. 1 receive £350,000 a week.

However, that won't be all. David de Gea wants reassurances with respect to the club's sporting direction. He wants to be reassured that the club will put a better structure in place and do all in its powers to ensure their ambition reflects in their actions in the immediate future.

David de Gea and his entourage expressed concerns over the structural problems at Manchester United which have left the club reeling in the post-Ferguson era and wants a change in the transfer policy at the club.
