Arsenal announce Dani Ceballos signing
Arsenal have announced the signing of Dani Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid. The report claims that the Spain u-21 sensation travelled to North London on Tuesday and has been undergoing medical tests and taking care of the minor details of his contract.
Ceballos agreed terms with Arsenal and put pen to paper today and the player will join Arsenal on a season-long loan deal.
The Gunners will not have the option of signing Ceballos as the player insisted that a purchase option not be included in the contract. This is a minor setback of sorts for Arsenal as they have been trying to find a long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey who left for Juventus earlier this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur were also heavily linked with Ceballos. Unai Emery's intervention went a long way towards convincing the Spaniard to snub Spurs and join the Gunners instead. It had been reported that Tottenham had made contact with Ceballos' representatives before the Euro u-21 Championship kicked off.
Ceballos was Spain's guiding light in the tournament and once it ended, Arsenal appeared on the scene and swiftly moved into the pole position to sign him up. Emery has assured Ceballos 40 games this season if he performs at the level expected of him.
Dani Ceballos joined Real Madrid in 2017 and has since starred 56 times for the Blancos scoring 2 goals and providing 5 assists.
