Bartomeu tells PSG chief to confirm whether or not Neymar is for sale
Neymar's return to Barcelona could be a whole lot more complicated than any of us would have imagined. The player is desperate to rejoin his former club. However, Paris Saint-Germain are under no pressure to sell, and Barcelona are short on funds.
The French side have reportedly stopped entering into negotiations for the sale of Neymar. Barcelona are interested in bringing him back too. However, after breaking the bank for Griezmann, they have been looking to engineer a player+cash deal for the Brazilian.
Now Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president of Barcelona, has told PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi that PSG has to clarify its stance on the availability of Neymar before Barcelona go in for him again. Neymar is applying pressure from his end to force the sale. However, Barcelona can do nothing until PSG gives them the go-ahead.
With the player desperate to leave, PSG will have to cave in sooner or later. After this latest development, we expect to have a lot more clarity on a potential deal for Neymar in the upcoming days.
