Pochettino says Eriksen is unfazed by rumours; claims squad is unsettled

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has given us contrasting updates as we move into the last week of the summer transfer window. Pochettino had told the press earlier that Christian Eriksen, who has been linked with an exit, is unfazed by the rumours.

"The player [Eriksen] is not affected about the rumours.
"There is nothing to say because we have one year more on the contract, but it is not the best situation for him and for everyone.
"He is handling it naturally, you can try to help as it is an important player in the dressing room.

"I was in this position as a player. It is not easy because of rumours and things that happened around you, but Christian is not affected by the situation and the rumours around him."
However, after Spurs' defeat against Newcastle United at home, he said that the squad is unsettled as the European transfer window remains open.
"I cannot find excuses because the transfer window is open."

"It doesn't justify that performance today or the result. But we have an unsettled group for different reasons and different personal circumstances. Of course, I am going to be happier in 10 days after Arsenal when the transfer window is closed and we know we have the players until it opens again in January."
