Barcelona set to explore market after Rafinha's injury
Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that Barcelona will be looking to sign a midfielder after the injury to Rafinha. The Brazilian suffered an ACL injury vs Atletico Madrid and is set to undergo a surgery that will keep him out for the whole season.
Talking to the media, Valverde said, "It's something we have to analyse. The injury came as a surprise, because of how it happened. He was able to finish the game against Atletico, then on Sunday [we find out the extent of the problem].
"We will have to look at everything. The January transfer window is close, so we will have to look at the circumstances and see what we do," added the manager.
Barcelona have been linked with €75 million-rated Frenkie De Jong and some reports suggest that the move for the Dutchman will be fast-tracked as Manchester City are also plotting a move for him.
