Denis Suarez to reach London today to complete Arsenal medical
According to the Daily Metro, Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is set to arrive in London today to complete his medical at Arsenal ahead of a loan move till the end of the season.
Barcelona tied Denis Suarez to a new deal thereby protecting their asset and this helped the Gunners receive a major breakthrough in their quest for the former Manchester City player.
Barca had decided to call off talks with Arsenal if the Gunners weren't going to sign Suarez on a permanent basis in the summer. The Cules initially offered Suarez a one-year contract extension which would see the Spaniard's deal run till 2021.
Denis Suarez did not want to sign it at first. If he had not changed his mind subsequently, Unai Emery's side will have lost out on their top transfer target this winter. Suarez has since signed an extension which will enable Barcelona to get a decent amount of money by selling him in the future.
The current loan deal will cost Arsenal €2 million and they will also have the option of signing him on a permanent basis in the summer for €25 million.
Dalian Yifang make huge €110 million offer for Immobile-Belotti duo
Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang are looking to bolster their attacking ranks and money will be the least of their concerns, if the report from Calcio Mercato (via Sky Sports) is to be believed.
The Chinese club will offer €110 million for striker duo Ciro Immobile of Lazio and Andrea Belotti of Torino. They are willing to offer €60 million to Lazio for Immobile and €50 million to Torino for Belotti.
Yifang have been linked with a variety of European aces and very recently, they were reported to be eyeing up a swap deal involving Yannick Carrasco and Antonio Candreva. However, that idea did not materialize.
The report also adds that the Serie A clubs have rebuffed the offers that were tabled. Belotti and Immobile are very important to their respective clubs and they are not willing to upset the rhythm of their teams and jeopardize their domestic and cup campaigns in a blind pursuit of money.
Manchester United on the verge of agreeing new contract with Martial
The Red Devils are close to agreeing a new long-term contract with mercurial winger Anthony Martial, according to BBC. The 23-year-old has been in talks with the club over a potential contract extension for quite a while now and it looks like the parties are close to coming to an agreement.
Martial was tipped to leave this past summer after Mourinho decided that he had had enough with the Frenchman's inconsistency. However, Martial was one of the star performers for Mourinho this season before his sacking. He has convinced the Old Trafford faithful of his importance in the current setup and is now ready to commit to United.
The former AS Monaco youngster's current contract at Manchester United is set to expire in 2020 after the Red Devils decided to activate a one-year extension clause in his initial agreement.
Manchester United to swap Juan Mata for Philippe Coutinho in the summer
Well, this is quite something, isn't it? According to reports in Spain via MEN, Manchester United are set to swap Juan Mata for Philippe Coutinho in the summer.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Ernesto Valverde does not believe that Coutinho will be able to turn things around at the Camp Nou. He is of the opinion that Coutinho will not fit into any of the roles in midfield and is also second or third-choice down the left wing.
Mundo Deportivo had reported yesterday that Juan Mata's agent had travelled to Barcelona to hold talks with Barcelona. The Catalans believe that Mata will be a better fit at Barca than the former Liverpool midfielder.
Mata's current contract at Manchester United will run out in the summer and he is yet to be offered a contract extension. At the age of 30, the Premier League might get too daunting and demanding for a player of Mata's physicality and Manchester United will be keen to rope in Coutinho in exchange for the Spanish maestro.
