Brahim Diaz set for Madrid move
Manchester City's attempts to keep Brahim Diaz have all to waste as the Spaniard is close to joining Real Madrid, according to Goal. The youngster's contract is set to expire at the end of the season but had a new deal on his table.
Diaz wanted the first-team role but Guardiola was not willing to guarantee him a place in the first team. Madrid are now set to take advantage of this situation and take him to Bernabeu.
Reports suggest that he will be sent out on loan for the rest of the season if signed in January. Should he only join in the summer, they will asses him during the pre-season and then decide if he should be sent out on loan and if he will remain with the first team.
Guardiola has kept talking highly of the 19-year-old but all his attempts of luring him to sign the new contract have not been heard.
