Manchester United have halted talks for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen as they believe that the Danish international has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid as he desires a lifestyle change. Manchester United reportedly remain in talks with other targets although a deal is unlikely to happen in these late hours.

Another report claims that Tottenham Hotspur want Manchester United to pay £80 million for Eriksen. The Red Devils have been put off by that asking price as Eriksen only has a year remaining on his contract and will be available for free next summer.
Tottenham Hotspur and Christian Eriksen have found it really difficult to come to an agreement over the extension of his contract and the Dane is almost certain to leave the club next summer. As such, it is quite baffling that Spurs would demand such an exorbitant fee as they run the risk of losing him on a free next summer.
