In what is one of the most unexpected transfer rumour in recent times, former Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona. The English full-back is considered a potential 'low cost' January addition by the Catalan club.
Barcelona have had problems with the right back position since Dani Alves left the club this summer. The La Liga club's other option at right back, Aleix Vidal, hasn’t figured for the Spanish club and his future at Camp Nou is uncertain.

24-year-old Sergi Roberto is the current right back and Argentine defender Javier Mascherano has also occupied the position for the defending La Liga champions.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have made a list of full-backs whom Barcelona could buy for cheap and surprisingly; the former Chelsea and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson was one of the players on the list.
Mundo Deportivo believes that Johnson ticks all the boxes to be a Barcelona full-back. The Spanish newspaper also stated that the Stoke player will be a better option than other veterans of his calibre as most of them have played in the Champions League this season and are cup-tied.
Shakhtar Donetsk captain Darijo Srna and Juventus player Stephan Lichtsteiner are two other players who could possibly move to Barca. 34-year-old Srna has been with Shakhtar for more than 10 years and has never been able to make a move to a big club.
Lichtsteiner, meanwhile, is no longer the first-choice right-back at Juventus after the arrival of Dani Alves from Barcelona.

Srna and Lichtsteiner could be sensible signings for the La Liga champions but Glen Johnson might not be the right option for Barcelona. The rumour itself has been considered a joke by fans all around the world, let alone the transfer.
Glen Johnson has a lot of experience under his belt having played for the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, and West Ham in the Premier League, and also having represented the English national team 54 times.
The Stoke City defender joined the club in 2015 after spending six seasons at Liverpool.
The 32-year-old full-back is currently injured but is expected to be available for team selection by the first week of November.
