Transfer Rumour: Liverpool make strong enquiry about David Villa

According to my sources, Liverpool are looking to snap up Spanish striker David Villa from Catalan giants Barcelona.

My sources at the club have said that the Merseyside giants have made a strong enquiry for Villa and have even offered their Slovakian centre-back, Martin Škrtel, as part of the deal to land Villa. It is still unclear if the deal is a like-for-like swap deal or if any extra cash has been offered in the deal.

Skrtel has rarely featured in Brendan Rodgers’ plans this season, and could be looking for a move elsewhere.
