According to my source at Manchester United, Wayne Rooney is set to hold meetings with the club regarding his future. While it may seem that Sir Alex’s retirement may have had a role to play in this decision, that is not the case. The meetings will take place within this month.

Meanwhile, various clubs are keeping a keen eye on the situation. My source informs me that PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have all made enquiries regarding the availability of the star striker. Manchester City is also keeping an eye on Rooney.

Whether Rooney will remain at Manchester United or seek a move elsewhere is something we’ll have to wait and watch.
