#2 Bruno Guimaraes (Midfielder, Athletico Paranaense):
Brazilian midfielders have always been in great demand in Europe. Players like Fernandinho, Coutinho and Arthur have all made a fortune by plying their trade at some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Clubs like to buy young players, usually those earmarked by scouts, so that they can be nurtured and moulded into the club's playing style. This will allow the player to have a smooth transition into the league as he starts to hit his prime.
One such player currently being earmarked by scouts is Athletico Paranaense's midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. The 21-year-old is a mix between a deep-lying playmaker and a box-to-box midfielder, he likes to dish out long balls to forwards but is not afraid to join them in the attack either.
Bruno played a vital role in Athletico Paranaense's 2017/18 Copa Sudamericana victory where he played in all the matches bar one, scoring two goals. He started in both legs of the semi-final and final.
Bruno's biggest strengths are his vision and passing. He is always aware of where everyone is on the pitch and finds them with perfect passes. His movement off the ball has impressed many. Going deep, he picks up spaces between his team’s defence and the midfield, trying to find ways to play the ball.
Bruno understands the in-game situations very well, allowing him to play anywhere in the midfield displaying a quality that most clubs would fork out a fortune for - versatility. He does not shy away from making tackles and his in-game reading abilty allows him to make interceptions on a regular rate.
