Twitter explodes as Yannick Carrasco and Nicolas Gaitan move to the Chinese Super League

In an unexpected turn of events, Atletico Madrid announced the departures of both Yannick Carrasco and Nicolas Gaitan to newly promoted Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang. The Chinese side seem to have secured both the signings for a reported €48 million.

While the two new signings will surely now help Dalian Yifang towards better performances in the CSL that starts on 2 March, the European club football has been dealt yet another blow as they lose one of the brightest stars in Carrasco to the benefits and riches of China.

So Yannick Carrasco has moved to China, aged 24. Just two seasons ago he scored for Atletico in the Champions League final. Looked like one of the best rising talents in Europe at the time. Such a waste.
