Twitter explodes as transfer window slams shut #DeadlineDay

Transfer Deadline Day had a slow but eventful ending as Ross Barkley - after completing (or not completing) - his Chelsea medical refused to sign for the Stamford Bridge outfit. The Blues, however, were able to complete the signing of David Zappacosta from Torino and it is expected that they will be able to sign Danny Drinkwater in due time.

Alexis Sanchez had to stay at Arsenal after a late move to Manchester City was scuppered as Arsenal failed to complete the signing of Thomas Lemar on deadline day.

A couple of other deals were also completed as the transfer window slammed shut at 2300 HRS GMT.
