Cristiano Ronaldo took his goal tally in the Serie A to 19 after scoring yet again in Juventus’ 3-0 win over Frosinone on Friday night. The Portuguese was once again in superb form, continuing to justify why Juve spent so much to bring him to Turin.
Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juve was met with a bit of skepticism from some fans, however, the 33-year-old is completely dominating the Italian topflight. On Friday, he played a key role as the Old Lady extended their lead at the top to 14 points.
The former Manchester United star set up Paulo Dybala to open the scoring in the 6th minute for Juve. He was again heavily involved in the build-up which led to Leonardo Bonucci doubling Juve’s lead.
In the 63rd minute, Ronaldo finally got on the scoresheet after firing a low shot from the edge of the box. The Portuguese latched onto a Dybala cross from the right hand side, before coolly finding the back of the net.
Juve manager Max Allegri then decided to substitute the 33-year-old, with one eye on the club’s Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid in midweek.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo has now moved top of the scoring charts in Serie A after netting his 19th league goal of the season against Frosinone. Interestingly, the Juve star is also leading the assist chart with eight assists to his name.
Ronaldo’s impeccable form, however, does not come as a surprise to many, as he has already proven himself in the Premier League and La Liga.
So, having netted his latest goal, a host of football fans took to Twitter to praise the Portuguese, who is now just one strike away from reaching 20 Serie A goal.
