Twitter reacts as Cristiano Ronaldo scores 4 goals against Girona 

Cristiano Ronaldo continued his fabulous start to 2018 by scoring four times to help Real Madrid to a 6-3 victory over Girona in La Liga.

The Portuguese has been in impressive form in recent weeks and, on the basis of his latest feat, it does not look like he wants to slow down anytime soon. Ronaldo opened the scoring for Zinedine Zidane's side after just 11 minutes, slamming home from a Toni Kroos cross.

Girona equalised through Cristhian Stuani in the 29th-minute to end the first half in a 1-1 draw. However, Ronaldo and Real Madrid returned to the second-half as the better side with the 33-year-old netting his second of the night just two minutes after the restart.

The Portuguese completed his hat-trick in the 64th-minute to send the result beyond doubt, before adding his fourth goal following the 86th-minute strike from Gareth Bale.

Ronaldo's latest goalscoring exploits mean he has now registered 50 career hat-tricks in all competitions for both club and country and the world of Twitter went berserk with praise for the Madrid forward.
