After losing their last league game 2-1 against Newcastle United, Manchester City got back to the winning ways as they beat Arsenal 3-1 at Etihad Stadium in their Premier League fixture.

The Cityzens got off to a flying start as Sergio Aguero gave them an early lead during the first minute of the game. However, their lead did not last long, as Laurent Koscielny levelled the scoreline just 10 minutes after conceding.

Sergio Aguero regained City's advantage just the moments before half-time and added one more to complete his hat-trick during the 61st minute of the game. The Gunners looked helpless against the defending champions and were completely outclassed by Pep Guardiola's side.

Manchester City enjoyed 59% of possession during the game, and had 19 shots on goal as compared to Arsenal's four.

The defending champions are currently second in the Premier League table, now just two points behind leaders Liverpool - who have played a game less than City. The Manchester-based club will play Everton next in the league before hosting Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on February 10.

On the other hand, Arsenal are now struggling after a promising start to the season under their new manager Unai Emery, and are currently sixth in the Premier League table. The Gunners tried to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window, but lack of funds prevented them from completing their objective.

They will play Huddersfield Town away next in the league before making a trip to Belarus to play FC BATE Borisov for the Europa League Round of 32 match on February 14.

Football fans reacted to Manchester City's victory on Twitter, and here are some of the best tweets.
