A match with so much at stake. A match that has it's own share of history in recent years. A match we all looked forward to all weekend.
The Madrid Derby was on show as third-placed Real Madrid welcomed neighbours Atletico Madrid who had a four-point advantage coming into the fixture.
An end to end affair from the first minute, it was Real Madrid who controlled proceedings for the first 15 minutes.
Atletico took their time to settle in and failed to trouble Keylor Navas. Both teams had to settle for half-chances and Marcelo came closest to breaking the deadlock when his curling effort hit the crossbar.
Second half started in similar fashion and Real Madrid broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute as Cristiano Ronaldo volleyed the ball into the net following an inch-perfect cross from Gareth Bale.
However, just three minutes later, Antoine Griezmann equalised after pouncing onto a loose ball inside the box after some good work from Vitolo.
The equaliser spiced things up a little and Zidane decided to mix things up and subbed in Benzema and Isco for Ronaldo and Modric.
However, despite putting Atletico on the backfoot for the remainder of the game, they failed to capitalise and the Atletico defense stood tall to grind out a draw.
A victory for Barcelona fans?
