David Silva scored the opening goal in the Manchester Derby

Manchester City maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League as they beat derby rivals Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford on Sunday night. The win extended their winning run to 14 games - a new record in the English top flight.

David Silva opened the scoring for the Citizens in the first half before Marcus Rashford equalised just four minutes later. However, Nicolas Otamendi's second-half strike was enough to give Pep Guardiola another win over Jose Mourinho.

City now have a 11-point lead in the title race. Here's how Twitter reacted to the game.

David Silva scored the opener just before half-time, getting on the end of a set-piece. Fortunately for him, the ball came off Romelu Lukaku and he pounced inside the box to beat David De Gea with an acrobatic effort.

But United struck back in injury time before just the half-time whistle after a mistake from Fabian Delph allowed Marcus Rashford to sneak in behind him and fire the ball past the onrushing Ederson in City's goal.

Unfortunately for Lukaku, it was his error on an another set-piece that allowed City to score another. His attempted clearance in the box hit Chris Smalling and it fell kindly to Nicolas Otamendi who fired home from point-blank range giving De Gea no time to react.

Ander Herrera was then booked for simulation when he went down in the box following a challenge form Otamendi. The midfielder tried to sell it as a penalty and perhaps that was what caused referee Michael Oliver to produce a yellow card.

Ederson then produced a fantastic double save to deny Lukaku what should have been a certain goal - including stopping a rocket of a shot with his face!
