In what was a historic derby as Atletico Madrid hosted cross-town rivals Real Madrid for the first time at the Wanda Metropolitano, the La Liga encounter ended 0-0 on Saturday night. Both teams were applauded off the field after a feisty game where they traded blows but just couldn't find the back of the net.
The result leaves both sides on 24 points after 12 games - 10 points behind Barcelona who won earlier in the day.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the result.
Ever since Zinedine Zidane took over, Real Madrid have been on the rise - but this season has seen a minor blip and they hit a roadblock for the first time away from home.
One of Diego Simeone's priorities was to keep a clean sheet in the first derby in their new home and he succeeded.
A lot was expected of Cristiano Ronaldo to add to his league tally - he does love scoring against Atletico after all. But he just couldn't get on the score sheet. Yet again.
Poor Sergio Ramos had to be substituted at half-time after he was unable to continue following a kick to the face from Lucas Hernandez.
Shouts for a penalty were waved away and the referee will be criticised for not awarding one. In fact, a number of decisions did not go Real's way.
There was only one winner from this draw - FC Barcelona!
