Two possible alternatives to Suarez for Arsenal

Can Arsenal force Manchester United's hand to sell Hernandez?

Can Arsenal force Manchester United’s hand to sell Hernandez?

With Giroud being the only world class striker available in the squad, Arsenal are desperate to bring in a new striker in the January window to share the goal scoring burden with the in-form French striker. It is believed that their main target will again be Luis z Suarez but Liverpool would never agree to sell their star forward for anything less than £55 million. So, let’s look at two other world class players Arsene Wenger should consider if the move for Suarez fails:

Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema was linked with Arsenal in the summer transfer window, but the move never materialised and Arsenal ended up signing Mesut Ozil instead from Real Madrid. Now the latest rumours suggest that Arsenal are planning to bid for the French striker again in January.

Considering Benzema’s recent poor form, Real Madrid may agree to sell him, but that will happen only after they get a proper replacement in the market. Real Madrid are also interested in Suarez from Liverpool. If that happens, then Arsenal are the clear favourites to get Benzema’s signature.

Benzema loves to play in a side that plays beautiful passing game. So, a move to Emirates will be a win-win situation for both the club and the player.

Javier Hernandez

Javier Hernandez should be a frustrated figure now a days. Even after showing impressive goal scoring form for the Red Devils, he is still struggling to earn a spot in Manchester United’s starting line-up.

Chicharito is not a van Persie type player, who can notch in a goal out of nothing, but he has that predatory instinct and eagle’s eye for the goal that makes him one of the best goal poachers in the world of football.

Even though United will try to avoid selling to their direct rival, a bid of more than £20 million may tempt them to sell the young forward.

Arsenal’s local rivals Tottenham are also said to be interested in signing the Mexican.
