#2 Scoring becomes the Achilles heel for Lopetegui’s men

It was only a couple of weeks ago when Real Madrid were scoring for fun. But time, as they say, passes like the wind and it was the third consecutive match where Madrid failed to score. The stats though will support Madrid’s attacking intent. Already in this campaign, Real Madrid have had 56 attempts on goal, the most by any team.
As Loptegui stated after the game, “Goals come when you keep creating chances and believe you will be more accurate. That is all we can do. I am sure we will soon be scoring again and winning again.” Despite possessing an embarrassment of attacking riches, Madrid hasn’t been able to create any clear-cut chances.
There were multiple shots on goal, but the accuracy left a lot to be desired. Madrid will rue their luck as Karim Benzema, Casemiro and Mariano all hit the woodwork for Real but failed to find any success.
