UEFA Euro 2012 : Group predictions

The Euro cup is near and everybody is eager to know what will be the outcome. Time will tell for sure, but here is a short prediction of how the teams may end up in their respective groups:

GROUP A

POLAND

GREECE

RUSSIA

CZECH REPUBLIC

It is not a really a tough group but according to me, Czech Republic will emerge as the leaders. It would be a tough competition between the other three. Poland would have the home advantage and should take the second position. Greece would occupy the third position and Russia would eventually finish last.

GROUP B

NETHERLANDS

DENMARK

GERMANY

PORTUGAL

Well we can easily say that this one is the death group. There would be a tough competition between Netherlands, Germany and Portugal. I think Germany would finish top of the table, few points ahead of World Cup finalist Netherlands. Portugal would finish on the third position even after having Cristiano Ronaldo as we can take into account their customary bad luck. Denmark would end at the bottom.

GROUP C

SPAIN

ITALY

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND

CROATIA

There is no doubt Spain would be on the top of the table. After all they are the world cup champions! Italy would probably finish second. Croatia did a good job in 2008 but this year would not be able to qualify to the next round after finishing third in the table. Republic of Ireland would finish last because they do not have many star players.

GROUP D

UKRAINE

SWEDEN

FRANCE

ENGLAND

England would emerge at the top of the table after having the likes of Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and many other youngsters like Tom Cleverly, Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck. They would have a tough competition with France who would finish second(did somebody mention Samir Nasri?). Sweden would finish third and Ukraine last even after having home advantage.
