United fans always had the unwavering belief that Sir Alex Ferguson ‘knows what he’s doing’. But in failing to trust David Moyes, a man Ferguson himself hand-picked to be his successor, these fans either think they know more than what Ferguson knows or they are simply asking whether Ferguson really knows!!
And, whichever way you look at it, it means only one thing – the United fans don’t trust Ferguson anymore.
But if Moyes walks out of United (Yes, walk out…because he’s not going to be ‘sacked’ anytime soon for sure) who would be available to take the hot seat?
Jose Mourinho? No, he isn’t going to get the job even if cries for the rest of his life. United simply don’t like someone who could poke them in their eyes!
Rafael Benitez and Roberto Mancini have already done the unpardonable sin of working for Liverpool and Manchester City respectively, so they are ruled out without a second thought.
Carlo Ancelotti is a decent man. It seems United like decent men! But Ancelotti struggled in his last season at Chelsea and he’s struggling at Real Madrid at the moment.
When you look at the pre-requisites for the job, the highlighted point would be that the manager should have the ability to develop academy kids to first team regulars. In that respect, none gets better than Arsene Wenger. But I’m sure the Arsenal board will have an obscene word or two in reply to any talk about Arsene Wenger taking the job at United.
We have pretty much exhausted our options from within the country and people who had prior successful experience in managing EPL clubs. When you look outside this circle, there are only two people whom you would fancy.
Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp. Guardiola obviously doesn’t think United is the greatest club on Earth and Jurgen Klopp doesn’t seem keen to leave the wealth of world-class talents at his disposal at Dortmund and come to a club where they only have world-hyped players.
But dear United fans, don’t lose heart, you have one brilliant option left. This man has experience in managing an EPL club. He’s brave, damn brave – everybody says one needs to be very brave to take the United job. He can face up to an army of hooligan fans all alone. He knows how to spit on his own face when results don’t go all that well. He can bring in loads of players through the transfer window – in his previous job he got over 20 players in one single shopping window, isn’t that great? And most of important of all, he’s available and waiting for an opportunity to get back to EPL, and he is…the former superstar of West Ham, an icon at Sunderland, Mr. Paolo Di Canio!!

P.S: If you are a true United fan, you should learn to support the club when they are down, and please understand that the people at the Manchester United board and Sir Alex Ferguson, both know what they are doing.
