Even though it has been two years since Paul Scholes retired for good, the former Manchester United player has still not forgotten how to shoot. The 40-year old scored this goal during a charity match in Hong Kong where the Premier League All-Stars faced the Hong Kong Legends.
In the video, Scholes can be seen taking an audacious shot from almost 30 yards out and plants the ball into the bottom left corner. While Scholes would have relished that goal, it is not the first time he has scored such a goal.
Scholes, who was somewhat a long range specialist during his hey days, scored a similar goal against Bradford City at Valley Parade in March 2000. In the 71st minute of the game, the opposition goalkeeper was unable to react fast enough to stop Scholes from scoring a lightning fast volley.
The Englishman though was not the only person to entertain the fans during the match. Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler also managed to score a stunning curled free kick in the match where the Premier League All Stars won 5-4.
Some of the other players present in the match included former Premier League stars like Emmanuel Petit, Claude Makelele, Robert Pires, and Darren Anderton.
Scholes was one of the most influential players in the Manchester United squad that helped them become one of the most dominant teams in Europe. While he initially retired from professional football in May 2011, he returned for a one-year stint in the 2012/13 season where he helped his team win their last Premier League trophy.
