Manchester City pulled off an unlikely victory away at Bayern Munich. The visitors pulled off a sensational come back after conceding two without reply. James Milner got the winner with a brilliant right footed curler into the bottom corner.
The Red Devils squeezed a narrow win to ease the mounting pressure on David Moyes. Phil Jones scored the only goal of the game with a thumping strike mid-way through the second half. The Ukranian side failed to qualify for the last 16 as Bayer Leverkusen grabbed a victory against Real Sociedad.
The Spanish giants took the lead through a scorching long range effort by Luka Modric. The hosts had an equaliser disallowed in controversial circumstances. Cristiano Ronaldo tapped in the next goal in the second half to give the visitors a comfortable victory.
Benfica put up a stellar show against French champions – PSG, as they came back from one goal down to pick up all three points. However, their dream of getting into the knockout stages was dashed, as they finished third in the group, separated only by goal difference.
The German side scored the only goal of the match which was enough to see them qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. Real Sociedad ended a disappointing campaign, securing just one point off their 6 games.
The two sides played out an end to end game, which saw two penalties missed and three red cards shown. Olympiakos got the better of the Belgian side, beating them convincingly in the end. The Greeks qualified for the last 16 of the tournament.
